In 1978 the Irthlingborough Old Peoples Welfare Association opened the College Street Centre for the Elderly and Disabled. The Centre was purpose built using funds raised from the Community for the benefit of people who live in Irthlingborough.
The Centre is owned and managed by the Trustees who are members of the above Association. The Association is registered with Age UK Northampton and is a registered charity number 205308.
The Centre received 5 stars from the Environmental Health Office for kitchen hygiene and safety.
Radio Northampton awarded the Centre helpers a Highly Commended certificate in their “Make a Difference “ awards for 2023.
The Mayor of Irthlingborough awarded the Centre helpers a Pride of Irthlingborough certificate in his year of office 2023.
The operation of the Centre is made possible by the hard work of the Committee and the volunteer helpers and drivers and all others who give their support.
